  • natural carbon materials and their origin: coal, graphite, interstellar carbon, etc.;
  • allotropic varieties of carbon: diamond, graphite, fullerite, carbyne, and derived materials;
  • synthetic carbon materials: pyrolytic carbons, activated carbons, fibers, nanotubes, graphene, etc.;
  • the numerous applications of carbon materials in the fields of energy, aeronautics, nuclear power, health and the environment, etc.

In 2024, the SFEC conference will take place at La Bolle in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges from 13th-16th May. It will be organized by the Jean Lamour Institute.
