Hiden Isochema is a world leader in the design and manufacture of gas and vapor sorption instrumentation for research, development and production applications in surface chemistry and materials science.
The first Intelligent Gravimetric Analyzer (IGA) was originally developed in the Department of Physics and Space Research at the University of Birmingham (UK).
The UK Science and Engineering Research Council-funded (SERC) project led to a commercialized system, the first of which was installed in 1989. From 1992 the IGA was manufactured, and developed into a full product range, by Hiden Analytical Ltd, from its manufacturing base in Warrington, England. Following the continued success of the IGA range, a dedicated water sorption analyzer, the IGAsorp, was launched in the late 1990s and Hiden Isochema Ltd formed in January 2002 to further specialize in the development and manufacture of sorption-specific instrumentation. Hiden Isochema continues to grow, and in 2013 moved into new purpose built UK headquarters, and is served by a worldwide network of sales agents and representatives.
Hiden Analytical and Hiden Isochema are now part of the Hiden Instruments Group.
Developing our product range
Since then, the company has expanded its product range to include unique high pressure gravimetric (XEMIS) and manometric (IMI) sorption analyzers, dedicated breakthrough (ABR) and membrane permeation (MBR) analyzers, and unique climate control systems (XCS). Today, we continue to strengthen our reputation for delivering high quality and versatile instrumentation.
Our instruments are found in hundreds of high profile academic and industrial research laboratories round the world at universities, research institutes and R&D labs, as well as numerous process and quality control installations.
