Glossary: Solubility

The magnitude of absorption expressed as a concentration under defined conditions or as a solubility constant. For example, an ideal (dilute) isothermal solid solution is described by Sievert’s solubility constant, k_s, which is the ratio of absorbed concentration to the square root of gas pressure.
