Glossary: Volumetric

Pertaining to the measurement of volume or volume change. It is also common terminology for the isothermal measurement of sorption from the pressure change by dosing between calibrated volumes. This is also known as Sieverts’ method or the manometric method. It is in widespread use in conventional BET surface area analyzers, but it is also popular for high pressure gas sorption measurement.
